Founded in 1925, the Woodcraft Folk is an educational movement for
children and young people, designed to develop self confidence and
participation in society,
with the aim of building a world based on equality, friendship, peace and co-operation.
There are groups throughout the United Kingdom. Weekly meetings give children the
opportunity to take part in a programme which includes craft work, drama, singing and
dancing, discussions and co-operative games. Outdoor activities include camping, hiking,
hostelling and other pursuits.

The movement has international links with similar
organisations in other countries.
St Albans District Woodcraft Folk, like many other
Districts and the organisation nationally, receives considerable support from the
Co-op.
